The Recently Established Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party Has Announced Its Candidates For Punjab And National Assembly Seats.

 The newly formed Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), which will compete in its first election, has announced its candidates for the national and Punjab assembly seats after a seat adjustment with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), according to an ARY News story on Friday.

According to a list provided to ARY News, the Jahangir Tareen-led party has fielded 12 candidates for the National Assembly seats in Islamabad and Punjab, and 27 people are vying for the assembly seats in Punjab.

President Abdul Aleem Khan will run for office from NA-117 (Lahore), while IPP patron-in-chief Jahangir Tareen will run from NA-149 and NA-155 (Lodhran).

Ghulam Sarwar Khan is the candidate from NA-54 (Rawalpindi), whereas Sharjeel Meera is running for NA-56. Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan is selected as the contender for NA-70 (Sialkot), while Rana Nazir Khan is the winner for NA-79 (Gujranwala).

According to ARY News, the candidates set to run in the interim are Hashim Dogra from NA-133 (Kasur), Malik Nauman Langriyal from NA-143 (Sahiwal), Mohammad Ayaz Khan Niazi from NA-147 (Khanewal), Gul Asghar Khan from NA-88 (Khushab), and Humayun Akhtar Khan from NA-97.

The NA-48 seat in Islamabad and the NA-128 seat in Lahore, which are regarded as two crucial seats, are still to be filled by the party's nominees.

The IPP also presented its candidates for the Punjab Assembly elections.

A well-known candidate for PP-149 (Lahore) and PP-209 (Khanewal) is Abdul Aleem Khan. According to ARY News, Jahangir Khan Tareen will contest from PP-227 (Lodhran), while Nazir Ahmad Khan has been awarded a ticket to run in PP-228 (Lodhran).

Amar Sadiq Khan will compete for PP-12 (Rawalpindi); Malik Azmat Mehmood for PP-13; Atif Ali for PP-16; Fayyaz ul Hasan for PP-17; and Adnan Hasan for PP-19.

Among the other candidates, party nominations were successfully obtained by Tahir Mahmood from PP-45 (Hindli) and Muhammad Mossadeq Riaz from PP-59.

Rana Nazeer Khan and Rana Umar Nazir obtained nominations from PP-66 and PP-68 (Gujranwala).

It is noteworthy that in June, Jahangir Tareen, a sugar mogul and former leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and close advisor to PTI president Imran Khan, founded the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP).

The general elections are set for February 8 and the distribution of electoral symbols is set for January 13 (today).

In the meantime, foreign observers wishing to keep an eye on the general elections have been granted more time by the Pakistani Election Commission.

They now have until January 20 to submit their applications.
